Xinh chao, my name is Ca Nguyen and I am 100% Vietnamese. As a typical Vietnamese American, I work in the nail industry as a nail tech. I can consider myself an expert at my profession as I’ve been working since 17. I am also a lash specialist so any of you guys that want beautiful, natural, flawless lash that are truly yours, just "HMU".
Beside my occupation as nail tech and lash artist, I am also an ARTIST
My focus is photography as I am the kind of artist that doesn't like to sit for hours to create art. The spontaneous, quick drawing with lights gives me the power to create artwork that is affordable to everyone. My artworks feature the beauty of nature and human and the conflict between them. There are always a tension of the beauty and death, the living and the celestial, the unknown and the well known. At the end of the day, I want us, human to recognize that we can still live in harmony with nature but we can control nature.
As for taking this class, it is the perfect opportunity for me to learn about modern art and what is consider modern. What modern now might not be so new in few days, the art world is a forever evolving place with newer and more shocking things but at the end of the day, it is the concept that drives the art. We might not like to accept things that are out of our comfort zone but art is about new thinking and it's about a visual language that has root in the intellectual thinking. As one of my prof said, "art become more conceptual then it is visual,” I wonder if part of it is true? (Just my side thought)
